Snow Day at Sea

Hello!
The night of March 11, the captain informed us that we would not be going to Mauritius. Mixed emotions filled the room. I thought weather caused the detour, but I was wrong. Financial issues had not been met for our berth on March 12.

Our executive dean arranged for us to have a snow day. Faculty, staff and students helped prepare for the day. Instead of going to the beach, zip lining or cruising on a catamaran, our day consisted of fun filled activities from noon to midnight. Basketball, volleyball, soccer, bingo, movies, pool and dance party, open-mic, improv and star gazing, to name a few, occupied all 600 of us.

As a growing community, we made the best of this unexpected day. It was a day for us to bond, create and share memories. Although I would have loved to experience Mauritius, I would never trade our snow day. And, who would have thought of having a snow day at sea? Me either.
