5 ways to Rome independently

I spent three days in Rome with my mom & sister. My mom's cousin from Napoli (Naples) met us for a day. And, my friend surprised me!

After being abroad for five months, my mom & sister highly suggested I plan Rome. I did. I like to travel a little bit differently now. I don't necessarily like to have a concrete plan. I leave room for spontaneous adventures.

I love meeting new people, learning about their culture & being a part of their day. I feel the five ways I provide are beneficial to not only the traveler, but also the local. I hope you take these recommendations into consideration when you plan your next abroad or domestic trip.

Here are my five ways you can travel Rome independently & maybe save a few $$$
  1. Book an Airbnb
    • This will allow you to meet new people, be open minded, & feel like a local
  2. Walk to Vatican City
    • On your way, stop at espresso & gelato shops (almost at every corner)
  3. Take an Uber
    • Download the app & ask your driver for local suggestions
  4. Eat local
    1. Avoid restaurants whose menus have pictures
  5. Shop local
    1. Support business owners & their talents

Enjoy the photos :)

Love Always,
Carina

I️ wonder if Rome has accepted uber and/or Lyft now. I️ remember there being an issue with uber and the local cab service.
