Say yes to the 24 hour or weekend trips. If your friends or family ask you to go on a road trip, agree to it. You deserve the break and adventure. You never know what you will experience. It is important to be exposed to different places, people, culture. etc. in order to be a well rounded individual.
I spent New Year's Eve in Nashville with my Ole Miss friends. I was there for 24 hours. It was so worth it. I drove four hours from Saint Louis to stay at a friend's apartment. I left early in the morning to make it by noon. I love driving alone because I can relax and reflect. I turn on my favorite tunes and cruise. Being able to escape from reality for a little bit is very rejuvenating. Upon returning home, I am refreshed for my upcoming week of accomplishing tasks and goals.
With the same group of Ole Miss friends, I spent the weekend in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. With two cars, we drove five hours from Oxford, Mississippi. We stayed in an Airbnb. It was a blast to be with everyone in the same house. We explored the city day and night on Friday and Saturday. We walked up and down Bourbon Street, ate beignets at Cafe du Monde, and collected beads from all the parades. It was a wonderful February getaway. Although classes had just begun for us about two weeks prior, it was very necessary to be with everyone on a trip before graduation.
I plan to explore a few more cities on my bucket list before I graduate. Stay tuned!
Enjoy the photos :)
